Seriously. What happened to the support for the VZW iPhone? All this talk of fragmentation. Now we have essentially the same phone, on different software generations. What gives? I guess we really are the red-headed step child.

To all those cutting military by huge percentages, what are your plans to deal with the millions of unemployed that would produce?
Where my budget is concerned, since I am not only cutting but also investing in forward looking projects/industries and also increasing student funding support, military personnel retired from active duty could find employment in the new jobs that would be created that way or go get higher education through the GI bill which now has more fund available along with hopefully reduced tuitions thanks to my investment in education. As for the defense contractors, part of their business would be salvaged through my increased investment in NASA where propulsion technology is concerned, also a rump business of supplying a reduced military would remain, I also continue to invest moneys into nuclear technology as I do believe in the nuclear deterrent. They also would have new markets with my spending increase in domestic security. That wouldn't cover all of it, not by far actually but then business models need to evolve in a free market if they want to survive. And if Israel et al. can't afford to take care of their own ****, well too bad. If people get laid of in the defense industry, well again, I am investing in forward looking projects that should in the short to mid terms create a new job boom.
My budget fixes the deficit not through across the board cutting but through fixing the income base of government by bringing taxes for the extremely wealthy back to appropriate levels and cutting subsidies for industries and countries that don't need it and/or don't deserve it.

To be honest, I'm from Germany and I would never ever pay an extra cent for a product manufactured in the US. The caption "Made in the USA" just suggests "Don't buy me, I'm going to suck". All these products I bought that were made in the US were overpriced and mostly of far worse manufacturing quality than comparable products from Asia or Europe. Just my experience, not that I hate Americans or anything, I like their ideas, creativity, inspiration and stuff, but the rest is better done by other people.
In all honesty, this has less to do with reliability, more to do with weakening your own country in the name of larger profit for select few. I have purchased crappy products from Asia/USA/Europe, and I have purchased durable items from Asia/USA/Europe. I guess its more about particular items design/engineering/quality control.

This is complete bullcrap, people. Over the air updates will come, but over WiFi. Doing this over 3G makes no sense.
DROIDs already do all updates over 3G and VZW likes it that way.
So if VZW is involved they will opt for updates over 3G
This may mean that VZW will be keeping unlimited data on the iphone, and may have changed their minds about ending unlimited data when it comes to the iphone. I think VZW has noticed that having unlimited data makes them more attractive when competing against ATT+T-mobile merger super company.

Beyond all the questions and concerns about Wal-Mart's treatment of its employees and some of its deceptive practices and its tendency to sap small communities dry and wipe out smaller, local businesses (all of which I have witnessed with my own eyes so don't accuse me of quoting any lefty Web sites)... beyond all that, you think anti-competitive behavior is just "a business being a business." Reset PRAM, apparently that broke CoreDuoTemp sensor because mine is reading 12�C, iStatPro is reading 12� C as well, but smcFanControl is reading 72� C. Week 27 MacBook by the way. So my suggestion is, if your MacBook has no issues or you are fine with how it is running right now, DO NOT UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE.
Just become some hacky software to read chip temperatures broke doesn't mean you shouldn't install an important firmware update.

I think this will make the iPad 3 very revolutionary. I think it will be crazy but i hope its like the 3d in the 3DS and not with glasses. But i can definitely see 3D coming to all iOS devices and eventually to OSX devices as the bridge between the two systems will become closer and closer as we go into into the future.

The easiest way to get one right now is to watch the Walmart site and check out the in-store availability. I keep seeing them come and go here, but at least you can see if they have any before driving around.
BTW... I went to get mine and missed it by minutes. :( Showed on-line and was sold by the time I got there.
Oh... This Best Buy deal... by the looks of it, this BIG promotion by Best Buys was just a shame to get people in the store. I'm not a big fan of Best Buys.

Ah good to see that it's not worth upgrading my Core Duo MB to the new one, I think the speed increase wil lbe negligble (comparing a 1.83Ghz CD with 1.83C2D)

Those Core Duo MB owners might consider a hardrive upgrade, to a 7200rpm drive, for a nice speedbump.

I'm curious to know whether these Top Secret features have been excluded from the developer preview as well........
Would they purposefully give developers a beta with striped down features?
And if the point of not publicly releasing them is that they dont want Microsoft to copy the features but they DO include those features in the developer preview, I have to imagine that Microsoft will see those features as I assume it is an official Apple developer and would receive these materials!

ThinkSecret has had an awful track record the past year or so. Some people here seem to be stuck in the good old days when they were actually a reliable source. Those days are gone. Their sources dried up.
Why would Apple announce their movie store when they don't have a decent video iPod to play them on? What has Apple been working on the past year? Larger capacities? The 5G iPods have not been updated in all this time and yet 80GB drives have been available all along. It just doesn't add up.

I happen to work for a vendor that supplies Walmart.. I believe this story to be true.. Walmart breaks the antitrust laws everyday.. and get away with it since they bribe and payoff key people in the goverment.(They call it contributions)
I know a vendor(He owned the company) who supplied Walmart with quality vacuums and vacuum accessories.. Walmart decided that they wanted a better price for his vacuums and so they demanded that he cut the price of his vacuums by 30% and that he downgrades the build quality(They had a 10 year guarantee) so they would break down more often thus forcing people to buy more vacuums.
He was in the 4th year of a 10 year contract where it stipulated that HE decided the pricing and everything.. So he refused to lower the price of the vacuums since he would ACTUALLY LOSE MONEY if he sold them at the price Walmart wanted.. Walmart tore up his contract and kicked him out of the store.. when he threatened to sue them for breach of contract they laughed and told him to do it.. it would end up costing him millions to successfully sue Walmart and he would lose money if he attempted that.

Ever owned a 12" powerbook? I have two.
There's a reason a lot of 12" powerbook owners rave on about them. The form factor is very neat. It sure isn't about how powerful they are :).
i can vouch for that...as much as i love the 13" screen, the 12" are much more portable and easy to carry around. its great how they manage to fit a full sized keyboard in sucha small space. i still love mine...tho im trying to sell!

Use it as a video/security/iChat/Games camera.
Use it for higher quality still shots.
Have improved video chat quality when real broadband speeds available. I have 1meg up 8meg down, that should be fast enough for some decent video.

And there are PLENTY of high end (Axis etc) wireless security cameras out there right now using G to pump back MPEG4 video wirelesly. I even have one.
