I have asked this question before, but got no response - If one of the spouses have a Shoplifting Charge in Singapore, and its been over 5 years since that hapened, Can we file the application together and request a pardon since its been over 5 years? Does anyone know how to do this.
Currently, the Application has been filed with only one person landing in Canada option.
I understand earlier Buffalo office would not require Police Clearance from Singapore but now they want the applicants to get that. I did not prvoide one as I filed before this change took place.
Any idea what one can do in such a case?

I was wondering how L1 can be allowed instate tuition while H1-B's have to pay out of state according to the Arizona list. What exactly is the fundamental difference between the 2 which results in L1's fulfilling the requirements?

I'm sure you can give these guy's a run for their money. One thing - if you pursue it long and hard enough I think there is a chance that you can get instate tuition. The only area I was concerned about was the domicile part but if L1's can prove domicile so can H1-B's.
My son was able to get in-state tuition at Arizona State University after we filed an appeal. The new rule allows those who have filed I-485 to get in-state tuition.

My BC does not contain my mother's name. I am getting an affidavit from my parents to support my BC. Do I also need a document from Municipal Registrar similar to what is needed if Birth Certificate is missing? Thanks!

Another way to look at this issue is get rid of rule not permitting GC holders to bring their spouses into the country,if marriage happens after GC.
This is something that needs to be fixed.Why cant there be a K-Visa or something using which spouses can be brought in.Why a Citizen is allowed to file a K visa to get their spouse and GC holders are punished for getting married. Any GC holder is in path to Citizenship in 5 years-dont see any logic in this rule.
This is a morally wrong and stupid thing which needs to be fixed ASAP.

Some online tax return websites have capabilities of pulling your W2 information from IRS site. I know turbotax does. Print out all those copies and your pay stubs. Send it to IRS with letter stating your problem. Before you do please apply for extension as april 15th is last date for tax return filing.
My wife worked as a consultant for first half of 2008 with a desi employer as an employee (on W-2). After many calls and emails we received W-2 Thursday that has income and taxes of only first two months. Now he says that he showed remaining 4 months as his profit so he can only send 1099. Please advise if I can take any legal action against this employer.

Thank you Krishna. The question really is whether my Labor/I-140 approvals as Indian citizen can be used to continue the GC (to file the I-485) after I change my citizenship. Would you know about that?
Or, if a new GC process is restarted with a new employer, can the old priority date be re-used in the new GC process after citizenship has changed?

Yes, I am definitely for this idea that we should petition/ask USCIS to change the rules to allow those with approved I-140 to be able to file I-485 while their PD is not yet current even if we would pay US$5,000.:rolleyes:

I have used AC21 and have not sent a letter yet to USCIS as it is optional and that is what my attorney recommended...that is to wait for an RFE (I have changed address as I moved to a diff. state; chances of an RFE increases)
That said, I am wondering that with a G28 representation on the files with USCIS, if I send a AC21 letter all by myself (without attorney), will it be honored by USCIS ? I am comtemplating of doing this as I wanted to prempt the RFE thereby saving precious time (when date is current) and the money that I would have to pay my attorney when the RFE reaches him (I would rather he reply to an RFE but want to give my best to avoid it)
any ideas ?

This is a million dollars question on everybody's mind. Although the books says you can, I bet no body will take the risk.
Nobody can predict when July filer will get AP too.
There is a good chance I am taking this risk. But if there is any hope I will wait. Contrary to that if there is no hope I don't want to keep waiting until July next year for AP.

I had seen a similar thread for NSC->CSC->NSC filers, but can't seem to find it anymore---did anyone whose cases got transferred to CSC receive FP notice?
I am a July 2nd filer, EAD/AP approved from CSC, case transferred back to NSC back in early Sept--still waiting for FP notice for over 4 months now.
PS: I am not desperate for FP notice---and i know it's going to be several years wait--just want to get the FP done and move to an apartment with lesser rent :-)
