We have the same situation. I am the primary and got my GC last July. Spouse still does not have it. We have a PD of Sep 2005 and 485 RD of Sep 2005. No idea what is happening. We also have contacted our Congressman, Senator, and done Infopass and SR. Our case was originally filed at VSC, transferred to TSC and is now at a "USCIS Office"

I got an RFE in Oct 2008 and responded to it. I a, hoping that I'm not going to get another RFE and also hoping that my application is pre-adjudicated and once the visa numbers are available (within one to ten years?!), i'll get the GC.

You should not apply 6 months in advance. You should apply 3 months in advance because if you do 6 months they might approve in a month from the date you applied and the new ead will start from the day it gets approved. Applied 6 months in adv and now lost the rest of the months of current ead. Dont listen to the customer service guys they dont know anything. They told to apply 6 months in adv and when I called them after approval they were helpless to even replace it for the actual term.

I could take upto 3 months of sabbatical partially paid (1st month:100%, 2nd,3rd-50%) - I am currently on H1 Visa and working for the employer who sponsered by GC. I would like to know if there is any effect of taking sabbatical on my pending I485 ?

Since you're on H1 that might be a problem as your W2 will reflect the lwage info . You can either take a leave of absence for a month or 2 (not more than that) If there's a query during H1 extension , you can let them know that you had taken a leave. Draft a leave letter and mail it to the employer so that he has it in records.

But if you use your EAD it doesnt matter. You dont have to worry about the 3months.

Hi,

If 4 months after 485 filed, I leave my job. Can I use EAD to work for another company? My wife also has 485 filed, so I can use her to renew my EAD if I need to.

All these questions have been answered multiple times in detail. I suggest you use the search feature.
