Flash Dako

Image
I took my Hogan Dako and painted like crazy! The inspiration was the Dako from the flash movies on AnrakuAnsaku's site. I used the flourescent paint that glows in black light. This is still a work in progress, as I am touching up and adding a glossy clear coat. I wasn't in love with this end result, the clear coat was recommended by LASH on skullbrain.org, and I think a glossy surface will really help my opinion of it.

Calvin Hobbes Ke Taare Zameen Perth...

a. ) Am a sucker for useless movie trivia so here's one : The sequence of the maths quiz question of 3 X 9 and the subsequent clash of the planets in Ishaan's mind is taken from the Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snowgoons in which Calvin comes with an answer of 6 to the question of "6+5 = " . For the record, the sequence is on pages 38 & 39 and Ishaan's answer was 3. b.) The look on Ponting's face in the Perth post match press conference.Priceless doesn't quite sum it up!

Kentucky Fried Goga

I painted my clear orange Gogamejiras last night. I had fun painting this one - the highly textured surface is really forgiving with any imperfections in my paint application... and I'm sure there are tons of those! :) I used a red/black/gold mix for the darker areas... the back of his head, his chest, hips, forearms Metallic gold alone for highlights, nose, eyeballs, fingers, toes then black to accent some of the darker areas... a small bit on his chest, the back of his head, the very edge of the forearms. I used a tiny brush for the silver teeth and a paint pen for the black pupils. Someone on skullbrain said it looked like fried chicken, hence the name of it.

Shameful , Ponting, Shameful!

i) It could well be true that Bhajji said what he said. But how and why can one's man word be considered more pious than the other's in a judicial hearing? And if the umpires, who were the neutral parties, didn't hear anything, shouldn't it have gone in Bhajji's favor? After all, our case was that nothing objectionable was uttered and the umpires said they hadn't heard anything objectionable. ii) Sameer, a dear friend, had a neat theory and I quote him. " Maybe he said, Behen Ki, Maa Ki... and it came across as Monkey..." iii) The most shocking umpiring I've seen in a while. And while Australia have received many many decisions in their favor at home against a number of touring teams, this test match alone has to take the cake. iv) Kumble: Like Sunny said, you're a fantastic ambassador for Indian Cricket. We're proud to have you on our side. v) Ponting: Your batting is the only good thing about your existence on earth.I would wish even

Follow up

A continuation of movie week... -Ilsa: She wolf of the SS - There's basically no redeeming quality to this movie. It's not terribly entertaining, and the filmmaking is all around terrible. The subject is what makes it interesting, and though I don't regret watching it, I could hav easily lived without it. I suppose it's just shocking enough to be interesting, and to paraphrase Rob Zombie, I can't believe a movie like this could ever have been made. -The Washingtonians- I have a soft spot for the Masters of Horror Series, I haven't seen that many, but this is the worst by far. The story had promise and there were a few creepy moments in the first half but it went so off course that it was painful to watch. Stick to Pro-Life. Damn Fun -Last Man on Earth- perhaps I watched this too soon after reading the book, so I felt myself needlessly comparing the movie to the book. However, the mood is set well, the adaptation is faithful, and Vincent Price is just plain cool.
