Went to see Blindness

Went to see Blindness (Fernando Meirelles, 2008). Novel José Saramago. If you stretch your willing suspension of disbelief to its utmost limits, it works perfectly well. It is, after all, a parable. Book plot summary from Wikipedia: "Blindness is the story of an unexplained mass epidemic of white blindness fflicting nearly everyone in an unnamed city, and the social breakdown that swiftly follows." The movie boasts the indispensable Gael García Bernal and the tremendously talented Julianne Moore, anyway, so it's worth seeing if only for them.
